Sent and Received

Hello!

On Saturday I received another post card from Germany, which I was so excited for. Opening up our mailbox and seeing a postcard makes me smile and I get very excited to see where the post card it from. My roommates have recently joined the post crossing world so in the next month or so post cards are going to be flocking to our house, which is so exciting. I am hoping to design and make a post card holder to hang by our front door to help us keep them all organized.

Anyways here is the post card I got from Koln, which is a place that I visited while living in Germany so it was cool to see a familiar name.

I am also sending out another post card today (Even though its Labor Day) to Taiwan this is the front of the post card.

I'm Still Here

Hello!

It has been a while since I have been on here due to fact that I started my student teaching in a wonderful 1st grade class and have not had the time to get on a computer and scan in the wonderful post cards I have received.

Since I have started post carding 8 people have received my post cards and I know have 5 more post cards traveling. I have also received 4 post cards total which has made me very excited.

Below are the 4 post cards I have received thus far and where they are from.

THE NETHERLANDS

GERMANY - (This one is from Berlin which made me smile considering I lived there for 2 years of my life and we still have a few friends who live there. I hope to go back one day!)

ARIZONA

PORTUGAL

I just bought a whole heap of new post cards from our college store and am so excited to be using them in the future.

My goal is to get on at least once a week and input all of the postcards I have sent and or received.

If you happen to go on a trip and remember I would love to get a postcard from you as well. My address is below and your card will be featured on my blog.

Card Received!

As I got home tonight and settled in and checked all of my emails and different websites, I was stoked to find out that one of the post cards I sent was received. I am not shocked that the one I sent to Michigan was the first one to be received. My name is now going to be sent to someone random and I should be receiving a post card within the next month at the latest depending on where its coming from. Since one of my post cards was received I am now able to send yet another post card. I got my new address and to my amusement I am going to be sending another post card to Michigan. While in my room I realized that I had a few post cards from trips past and one of my favorites is from our spring blink trip when we stopped by Goats on the Roof. Here is the post card below, its going out tomorrow morning!

Round Number 1

Hello!

Today I mailed out my first round of 5 postcards to various places all around the world.

The 5 postcards I got at Walmart since I purchased them at 1:30 in the morning (yeah really weird). They will be going to Michigan, Finland, Norway, Netherlands, and China. I now have to wait until the people recieve their postcards and register them online. As soon as they register them my name and address gets thrown out to someone else random around the world to send me a postcard. As well as I will be able to get another name to send another post card.

From the research I have done it will take around 15-20 days to get the ones to the people outside of the country but the one in Michigan should only take a couple of days which I am so glad for.

The postcards were each only about 10-25 cents. The postage inside the US cost 44 cents and it was 98 cents to send the ones outside of the country so all in all I feel like it's going to be such an affordable hobby and I cannot wait to receive my first postcard, even though I know it could be a month or so away!

All the best

As I journey into this new adventure I cannot say how overly excited I am about this.

A few months ago I really thought about how neat it would be to get postcards from family and friends who lived all over the world. I did not feel like putting much effort into it. Tonight I was with my best friend as she was going to lead worship at a church and had a magazine that I purchased to keep me entertained. No more then the 4th page in I read a little blurb about a mom who was thrilled about an article explaining postcrossing.com, which enabled her kids to send postcards and get some in return from strangers around the world. This peeked my interest immediately and off I went on the Internet.

I signed up for the website and was so excited to see who I was going to get to send postcards to first. You are only allowed to send 5 at a time when you start out and after the person who receives your card registers it online, someone gets your address and a postcard is sent your way.

This blog is going to be how I help keep track of all of my postcards! I am also putting them in a photo album to keep them where I can look at them often.

I went ahead and bought my first 5 postcards (seen below) and will be going to the post office to send them out tomorrow - or today since its 3 a.m. The cards will be going to China, The Netherlands, Finland, Norway, and Michigan.

I finish each post card with All the best and then sign my name so it only seems appropriate to finish my blog posts the same way.
